A-TSI: (Additional Targeted School Improvement)
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) identifies a variety of student success measures that schools and districts are required to meet. The Lakeland Junior-Senior High School was designated as requiring Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (A-TSI) based on 2017-2018 data. This designation required the JSHS to create an improvement plan to address identified deficiencies which included attendance and math proficiency.
Plan Development:
The District elicited participants from all stakeholder groups to develop our improvement plan. The planning team consisted of varied stakeholders from administration, faculty, students, parents, outside consultants and other members of the Lakeland community. A combination of large group planning sessions and small group teams were used throughout the planning process. We reviewed our local data, and utilized the PA Essential Practices Self Assessment Guide as a tool to analyze our strengths and needs. Internal district teams drafted action plans, with timelines and measurable criteria, to meet established needs identified through our analysis.
