2017-2018 Teacher Innovation Grant Information and Application

We are excited to announce a selective grant process for Teacher Innovation Grants for the 2017-2018 school year.  As technology continues to evolve and shape the way we educate today's learners, Lakeland School District believes strongly that we must continue exploring how technologies will encourage creativity, innovation, and engaged learning in classrooms across the district.

One goal of the 2018-2021 Comprehensive Plan in process, is to implement a 1:1 device program in grades 9-12. To help us collect information prior to the implementation, we are preparing a Chromebook pilot program.

This spring, Lakeland SD will have competitive Teacher Innovation Grants available for teachers in grades 7-12.

  • Three teachers in grades 7-12, will be awarded a class set of Google Chromebooks to bring 1:1 technology into our classrooms. Our innovation grant winners will provide feedback and data to show how a Chromebook environment impacts student learning and productivity through the lenses of the Four Cs of 21st century learning (communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking).
  • Teachers must be willing to commit to the following Requirements for Grant Recipients.

If you are interested in applying for an 2017-2018 Innovation Grant, please refer to the Four Cs of 21st century learning and Framework for 21st Century Learning for more information about best practice technology integration strategies and benchmarks.

We are looking for proposals designed to implement Common Core Standards, ISTE NETS-S standards and focus on 21st Century Skills: Global Awareness, Creativity and Innovation, Critical Thinking, Information Literacy, Visual Media Literacy and self-directed learning.  We are seeking to truly redefine teaching and learning through the use of technology.
